A mixture of 92A1s, M9A1s, 92 compacts and 92Fs models. But, earlier this year, I had a total of 9 Berettas. I currently have 5 exact model 92FS pistols - all with night sights and set up identically. But, most people can't tell the difference.
I sold them off earlier this year, because I find I just prefer the balance of the non railed models. Also, you can use any 92FS grips ou want (unlike the 90-Two model), and you get THREE 17 round magazines. Nice rail - thicker slide, internal recoil buffer to save some frame battering from occurring. The 92A1 is Berettas latest generation of the 92 platform. If a company treats people like they quite often do, I don't care if they build the best gun in the world. They could be building Ed Browns for the price of a Taurus. I am an admitted Taurus hater, and have made many posts in the past with links to just horrendous stories, and further horrendous treatment of people by the company when dealing with repairs. If you know where to buy it from, this is a $35 part. As I have seen and read about many breaking at just a few rounds past 20k, I recommend changing them every 15k rounds. The lifetime of Beretta locking blocks are 20,000 rounds. As far as I can tell and from what I have read - Taurus has made no changes. They are on their 3rd generation locking block. I've even seen some 92 Taurus models where the white paint for the rear sight dot is NEXT to the depression, instead of in it.īeretta also had upgraded their locking block designs. The parts are much better on the Berettas. While some love the frame mounted safety - the build quality is no where near as tight as the Beretta. While the Taurus 92 is the best "Taurus" that Taurus makes - it's still a Taurus.
